Survived 2011

I wrote a post “Not a pretty Sunday”. It was more than just attending party and watching friends getting drunk.

– This is Hennessy Artistry HALO last year, in November.
– I got an invite from a friend, it was last minute.
– I never get drunk at this kinda event, because as I said, small world, same guests.
– Most people ended up puking at the end of the event.
– Park Jung Min performed at the event, I forgot all the other artists’ names.
– I starved myself 1 week to fit into this ridiculous dress.
– I walked funnily at the end of the event, thanks to the heels.
– Wait for it…

I got into an accident.

I was too lazy to drive, and it was too far away, so we invited another friend. He just got his license, and he’s still in college. I didn’t enjoy much at the party, so I spent most of my time outside at the bar, watching people taking pictures and getting drunk. I really don’t understand what’s the point of taking pictures with the same bunch at all events. Are you leaving the country?

I was with Chrizz, member of PersonEdge. I was having fun at his table. Although not at the VIP section. People kept asking me why am I at the regular’s area. Just because I’m a blogger I have to party with the same species?

After escorting a drunk girl friend to the toilet, I lost my driver. I lost him to Sam Insanity for 1 hour. I was looking all over for my driver. And when I found him, it was the end of the event, and he seemed fine. I thought to myself, thank God he’s not drunk.

We got out of the club, we saw people puking on themselves. We saw girls being carried into the car and sent home. I saw my colleague, and he was all “Ashley! Why are you here?! I’m so happy to see you here! I have tears in my eyes now! I’m so glad you came!” he gave me a big hug. The funny things is he didn’t remember seeing me at all the next day, and asked me what did he told me. Tsk tsk tsk…

Sam came to me and said, “don’t let him drive, he’s drunk.” But my driver looks perfectly fine. So we let him drive anyway. Since he doesn’t know the way back, he had to rely on his GPS. Another friend of ours was sitting at the back, sleeping. So I was holding the GPS and repeat after whatever the GPS is saying. It’s hard, because I have 0 sense of direction.

He was driving very fast, and the GPS was saying “turn left, turn left.” So I told him, “hey maybe you should slow down we’re almost missing the turn.” He made an emergency left turn, and the car flew, I was pressing my hands against the car roof to settled myself in my car seat, and the car flew into a compound area, hit an old stall parked at the corner.

I shouted, “is everybody still alive!?” Everyone was fine and I saw my driver trying to start the car “Ashley, how, I can’t start my car..” I got out of the car to see how bad was the car.. It was really bad.. We couldn’t start the car, and I can smell gasoline, so I packed myself and called Sam. We waited 20 minutes..

After Sam arrived, we hopped into his car and get some food into our stomach and try to get a tow truck’s number. So my friends, do you still remember me calling you for a tow truck’s number? That’s what happened. We split half to pay  for the tow truck and drop the car in Ampang.

We sent the girl back to Cheras first. Then we sent our friend to Sam’s house. After that Sam had to send me back to my car, and it’s already 7am, so we grab a bite at Mont Kiara’s Wendy’s..

It was an adventure neither Sam or myself want to remember or repeat. It was a torture. Can you imagine if the car flipped or hit something else instead of a stall? It could kill us all.

Lesson Learned.

If your friend’s been missing in a club for more than 1 hour. Do not let them drive. You have no idea where he/she’s been, or how much he/she’s drank. So never ever let them drive.

If you don’t know your way. Get a cab, better safe than sorry, but always get someone to take the cab with you. Again, better safe than sorry.

You can never trust anyone to drive in any situation after a party has ended, take a cab.

Getting drunk and puking on myself is one thing. Not drunk and still got into an accident is what proves – Shit happens.

– Never Drink and Drive –

Or, don’t drive to drink.

  1. what happen to you reminded me of the same thing also happen to a friend of mine . he drive and somehow he loss consciousness and his car turn over ( upside down) , and lucky for him , he just had a minor injury . so as a driver , should know that if drunk , please don’t drive .

  2. Quite an adventure. Mind I ask if anything crossed ur mind when the car flew? Been near death myself. “Shit, this hurts.” was all I could think of.

Shit happens for a reason. Think of the things u’ve been doing n maybe u’ll find the connections.

  3. Drunk people will never admit that they’re drunk!

Those that know that they’re sober should drive instead of taking the passive role.

  4. I know exactly how you feel!

I was in an accident caused by my drunk friend too.. he stripped me of all my cash(and also bank money) when i was still in uni.. then he drank it all away.. had no money to get a cab so i tried to ask him to let me drive, but he fought with me for the key.. he said he could still drive.. then we got in to the car…..

reaching around pandan indah area… he lost control of the car and the car spun a few times…. hit the divider at the side… and stopped…. i had the worst injury compared to everyone in the car…

best part… i only had a coke glass that night……….
